Wedding Bells for Ashlee & Pete

Fall Out Boy frontman, Pete Wentz and singer-actress Ashlee Simpson are engaged to wed.

 

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share we are happily engaged,” the 23-year-old Simpson posted on friendsorenemies.com

 

“We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us,” the happy pair stated.

 

The pop starlet has followed her older sister, Jessica, down many paths: a music career, a MTV reality show and now the list includes getting married young.

 

It is reported Wentz proposed within the past few days at his brother’s art exhibit in Colorado. The rocker bent down on one knee and Ashlee immediately accepted.

 

Marriage talk sparked after Simpson recently began wearing a promise ring, given to her by Wentz. She later admitted it symbolized the couple’s intent to marry.

 

“It just means he hasn’t asked my dad yet,” she said on a February episode of Fuse TV talk show, “The Sauce.”

 

Now that the 28-year-old emo-rocker has received permission for Ashlee’s hand from her father, Joe Simpson, it appears they will be one big, happy family.

 

According to People.com, Joe said, he is “totally happy” and “so excited to have Pete as a part of [our] family.”

 

“We are blessed,” he says.

 

Who else is happy for the newly engaged couple?

 

Ashlee’s ex, Ryan Cabrera.

 

Cabrera told Usmagazine.com that, “I like him a lot– I think they are really good together.”

 

Ashlee briefly dated Ryan between 2004 and 2005 during her reality show.

 

Simpson and Wentz have been dating since autumn of 2006.

Terminal 5

Naomi Campbell was arrested last Thursday night at Heathrow’s Airport for allegedly spitting in the face of a police officer.

 According to TMZ.com, the supermodel was pulled off a British Airways flight for causing a disruption after she discovered one of her three carry-on bags was missing. 

Campbell, 37, was due to depart for Los Angeles when she learned one of her bags was absent.

Annabel Fox, spokeswoman for Campbell, told reporters Naomi was traveling to the U.S. to attend a memorial service and had already boarded the plane when she was informed one of her bags went astray. 

The beauty began yelling insults at British Airways and airport staff, demanding her luggage be found immediately. As she continued to hurl insults, British Airways flight attendants deemed her unfit to fly. 

British Airways “decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and then called the police to forcibly eject her,” Fox said. 

During the dispute over lost luggage is when the London-born supermodel is believed to have spit in the face of the law enforcement officer while being handcuffed and removed from the flight. 

Terminal 5, the terminal which Campbell was scheduled to depart, has caused major chaos since its opening last week. According to reports, hundreds and flights have been canceled and over 28,000 bags have gone missing. It is believed Naomi is only one of several thousand people who have required police intervention since the opening of Terminal 5. 

If you recall, this is not the first run-in with the law for the fiery super-model.  

In 2000, Naomi pled guilty in Toronto to an assault charge for beating an assistant during the filming of a 1998 film. Under an agreement with prosecutors, Campbell expressed remorse and was released without punishment or a criminal record. 

Recently, in 2007, Campbell struck again. This time, Campbell pled guilty to misdemeanor assault for throwing (and injuring) a maid in a heated dispute over a pair of jeans. Naomi was ordered to five days of community service and attend a two-day anger-management program. 

Campbell was released on bail from police custody shortly after midnight Friday morning. 

If convicted, the star could face up to six months behind bars for assaulting a police officer. 

NHL star involved in prostitution ring?

A Manhattan madam who was arraigned on money laundering and prostitution charges earlier this week allegedly has NHL star, Sean Avery, among some 2,000 names in her little black book, according to the New York Daily News.

Avery, 27, probably would not mind appearing on Entertainment Tonight spawning rumors he is running around with some celebrity, but a front page scandal involving him and a prostitution ring was most likely an unwelcome surprise.

Reports allege that Kristin Davis, the madam who ran a multi-million dollar prostitution ring called Wicked Models, kept detailed notes, names and phone numbers on a spread sheet the Daily News uncovered. Reportedly, the name and cell phone number of Sean Avery appeared on the list. According to the Daily News, “there was nothing besides Avery’s name and number- just a note that the price was $500 cash.”

The Daily News went on to report they called the provided cell phone number and Avery answered. When the caller informed Avery his information was found on Davis’ naughty list, the New York Ranger’s star replied, “For some reason, I highly doubt that.”

Avery later provided a statement vehemently denying any use of Davis’ services.

“This assertion is false and defamatory,” he said. “I was never a client of Ms. Davis, nor of any prostitute.”

Among others making statements is Mark Heller, attorney for Kristin Davis. According to Heller, no such book exists. “It is my belief and my client’s belief that whatever is in the Daily New’s possession is not authentic,” he told Newsday.

Avery, who was featured on People’s 2007 Sexist Man Alive list, is definitely receiving support from his teammates. The NHL star said he and his teammates were “laughing hysterically” about the report during team practice.

Bloggers on FoxSports.com also have Sean’s back. The blog is filled with entries of support. Most ask who even cares and others make valid points that the hockey star is to busy with traveling and practice to waste his time (and money) in a whore house.

The hockey star is handling this incident well. It seems he and his publicist are making all the right statements at this time. They have denied that Avery ever stepped foot in the Mansion de L’Amour.

However, it seems to me that Sean has been throwing out several jokes about the event. Since this is a perfect example of crisis communications, I would advise Sean to slow down the jokes and make his statements slightly more serious. His reputation is on the line and he is currently negotiating a $1.9 million renewal contract with the Rangers. That’s nothing to jeopardize.

Sex in Kristin’s City?

 

Compromising sex photos allegedly featuring Sex & the City star, Kristin Davis have been leaked by her ex-lover, Eric Stapelman.

Rumor has it Stapelman became upset with Davis (for an unknown reason) and released the photos.

Initial reports suggested there was a sex tape, but it is now believed the male in the pictures have sold an estimated 20 photos to a third party who then posted them online. Ironically enough, the photos have now reportedly been stolen from the third party.

The photos apparently show a female strongly resembling Davis performing oral sex on a male whom is assumed to be Stapelman.

Of course, Davis’ rep has continually denied the existence of a sex tape and that the female in the photos is Kristin Davis. “This is not a photo of Kristin Davis,” a rep for the actress tells OK!. “There is no sex tape.”

Need I remind you that Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian “didn’t” have a sex tape either? Whoops.

After reviewing several main stream media articles on the scandalous event, Kristin seems to be receiving a tremendous amount of support. The media is making people aware that although a few of the photos strongly resemble Davis, several do not.

A small number of news stories, however, are suggesting this may be a publicity stunt by producers of SATC to draw more attention to the much anticipated movie scheduled to be released in May.

As of now, no relative or friends of Davis have made any public comment on the incident. It appears the only person making statements at this time is Kristin’s publicist.

Blogs all over the web seem to be quite unfavorable toward the 43-year-old celebrity.

Most of the bloggers imply they have viewed the pictures and have some nasty things to say about the intimate act. It appears that there are several photos of the actress naked by herself with the photos focused on particular female anatomy.

Bloggers also seem to be stuck only on the photos that resemble the SATC star along with the naked photos in which the female’s face is covered. There is hardly any mention of the photos that look nothing like Kristin Davis.

Clearly, main stream media is covering the facts and giving Davis the benefit of the doubt. Bloggers are unsympathetically claiming that the female in the photos are without a doubt Kristin Davis and are callously criticizing the body of the Davis look-a-like.

Naturally the main stream media outlets are reporting this unfortunate event with about as much class as they can muster. Unfortunately blogs are not doing the same.

Davis’ publicist has not made many comments on the occurrence up to this point. I think now Kristin needs to step up to the plate and either deny or confirm the allegations herself. If it does turn out that there is a sex tape and the pictures in fact are the actress, she should go ahead with the confirmation.

Convenient Love Connection

It appears Paris Hilton and Benji Madden are the hot new thing among celebrity couples this week. 

Two weeks after his split from fiancée Sophie Monk, Benji Madden is stepping out with another beautiful blonde, Miss Paris Hilton.

How convenient that Benji is the twin bother of Joel Madden who is the father of Paris’ on-and-off again B.F.F. Nicole Richie. Will Richie and Hilton be planning double weddings soon? Not so fast. 

The pair have been stepping out together all over the country the past few days. The new couple was reportedly spotted clubbing in St. Louis last weekend while Paris promoted her new fragrance. Monday, they were seen holding hands shopping in Hollywood at Fred Segal, and later that night, headed out to Club Hyde together.  

Paris is even being introduced to the family. Reportedly, Madden invited Paris to lunch with him and his mother. 

“Yes they are dating. It’s pretty serious,” a source tells People magazine. 

Could Paris end up being a sister-in-law with her best friend? A picture of Paris and Benji has been posted on the Madden brothers Web site, which they call a “nice little family photo,” and describe Hilton as the “wonderful Paris.”

The ex-jail bird has been linked to several other musicians such as Nick Carter (back in 2004) Travis Barker and even wanna-be rapper Kevin Federline.

Perhaps the heiress should slow down her dating circus so people don’t get the wrong impression. We don’t need to go through another sex-tape scandal. If you remember, in November of 2006, “1 Night in Paris” surfaced staring Paris Hilton and ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon.

LiLo In The Nude

As If Lindsay Lohan needs to draw more attention to her current state of unemployment, the starlet decided to bare all in the Feb. 25 issue of New York Magazine.

LiLo and renowned photographer, Bert Stern, recreated several iconic images shot of Marilyn just six weeks before her tragic death in 1962. The racy recreation took place February 5 in Los Angeles of the “Last Sitting”- the name bestowed upon the shoot as they were the last photos taken of Marilyn alive.

The photos show Lohan dressed in a blonde wig with striking red lips. Less striking, however, may be the unflattering poses and facial expressions donned by LiLo.

If you ask Lohan is she was uncomfortable about getting naked for the world, the answer is no. Apparently Lohan had no problem showing the people of the world her freckled speckled body. She did, however, fess up to doing 250 crunches the night before the photo shoot.

Lindsay sure knows how to make her spot-light-craving mother, Dina Lohan, proud. “It was very tastefully done,” she proclaims to People of the pics. “I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically.” (Don’t hold your breathe for jail-bird father, Michael Lohan, to be checking this “art” out anytime soon. “I’m not going to look at the photos — that’s my daughter!” he told Us Weekly)

Lindsay admits to being somewhat obsessed with the infamous sex goddess, which has translated into buying an apartment where she once lived and collecting “a lot of Marilyn stuff,” including a large painting she received as a Christmas gift and a Marilyn Monroe cookie jar from her mother’s “girlfriends”.

“It’s eerie because it’s this picture of her, and it’s kind of cartoony,” she says of the portrait, “and there’s a big bottle of pills next to her, and they’ve fallen over.”

Classy.

Unfortunately, for Lindsay, this may have not been the best attempt to jump-start her career again. Public opinion has not been exactly kind, but quite critical of the sobriety-challenged actress’ career move. Most are calling for a return to “acting” but many believe this photo-shot may overshadow any come back Lohan may have planned. Maybe now she will continue a career with Playboy if all else fails.

I’d Rather Hear Dogs Bark

Heidi Montag’s new single, “Higher” has not debuted as “high” as she might have liked.

Truthfully, the lyrics are OK, but the singing? There is simply no talent at all. However that is not the way Heidi sees it. Surprisingly enough, Heidi’s joke of a debut reached No. 7 on the iTunes Top 10 pop charts.

“Looks like all the haters are also buying it!” Heidi apparently told Hollywoodgossip.com.

Don’t let this fool you. Heidi Montag has feelings too! She has also been following the montage of negative criticism and it’s led to many sleepless nights.

“I just started sobbing uncontrollably,” she said. “I cried myself to sleep that first night after my video came out. I just couldn’t understand why people I didn’t even know felt the need to be so cruel and hurtful.”

It seems bloggers around the world shared the same experience.

So why is the video getting such negative reviews? Let’s start with allowing ex-fiance Spencer Pratt to direct this master-piece. Back in October of 2007 the team of two showed up at the beach with Spencer’s camera and boom box. There were only two takes and the whole ordeal lasted a mere 20 minutes.

“We had other ideas but we couldn’t afford them,” Montag told Hollywoodgossip.com.

From a PR perspective, Heidi needs to take the time to gather enough money to be able to afford the costs of shooting a music video professionally. Also, she should back track and also take time to see a vocal coach. Even working with a choreographer would not be a bad idea. Montag has been labeled by many as an attention-seeking media “whore”. It’s crucial she erase this image by stepping out of the spot light and allow time for people of the world to become obsessed with another starry-eyed nobody.

Filtering The Poison

Finally, Britney Spears may see a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. For the past year and a half, Britney seems to have been lost in a complete fog and now daddy has finally come to the rescue. After recently being appointed Britney’s conservator and taking control of the pop star’s dangerously lethal behavior, failing music career and diminishing finances, Jamie Spears received permission to fire the Brit’s business manager, Howard Grossman.

Allegations the manager did not follow directions to turn over several legal documents lead to a motion filed on Feb. 7 by the attorneys for Jamie and Britney Spears. The motion was granted and Jamie immediately fired Grossman. According to PEOPLE Online“the motion alleges that when Spears was released from a psychiatric hospital, Grossman arranged for her to meet with visitors and attorneys in violation of court orders.”

L.A. Court Commissioner Reva Goetz made her decision after an emergency closed-door hearing was requested Thursday by Jamie Spears. According to Starpulse.comGoetz also ordered Grossman to turn over “all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears” to Jamie Spears.

OK, these are only baby steps, but it looks like Britney is headed in the right direction. At last, her family has come into the picture and is clearly trying desperately to dig Britney out of the crater she has so gloriously dug herself. Who will be the next leech to bite the dust? May I suggest Sam Lufti or Ali Sims?
